We can help!
CACFP, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, teaches you how to plan menus that meet daily nutrition requirements and reimburses you each month for the cost of the meals you serve. We offer weekday, weeknight and weekend participation.

PURPOSE
To insure that children in child care settings receive nutritious, well-balanced meals
To improve the diet of children ages one to twelve
To reimburse child care providers for meals served through the federal government’s CACFP administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education
LVCC’S RESPONSIBLITY
To bring more providers into the CACFP program
To monitor meals a minimum of three times yearly
To reimburse providers for meals served
PROVIDER’S RESPONSIBLITY
To ensure that children receive nutritious, well-balanced meals
To maintain and submit daily attendance records and meal counts monthly
To plan menus that meet meal requirements
MEAL REQUIREMENTS
BREAKFAST
Milk
Juice, fruit or vegetable
Bread or bread alternate (cereal, or other food from enriched flour)
LUNCH/SUPPER
Milk
1 meat or meat alternate (poultry, fish, cheese, eggs, dried beans, peas and peanut butter)
2 fruits and/or vegetables
Bread or bread alternate (roll, pasta or rice)
SNACK
2 choices from the 4 categories listed above
(milk and juice may not be served together)
